Bigger work gets eyes on it first. I come see the job, usually the next Saturday, and the written quote lands within 48 hours of the visit. The number holds for 30 days, and it's the number on the invoice.

No mystery math: materials at cost plus 15 percent for the running around, labour by the day, licensed subs quoted at their price plus 10 percent for me to coordinate them, and the whole thing in writing before a tool comes out. If we open a wall and find a surprise, the work stops and you get a call and a price before anything continues.
Your cancellation rights, printed on page one
Ontario law gives you 10 days to cancel a contract signed at your home, for any reason, full refund. My contract says so on page one, because you should not have to go looking for your own rights.
Winter is for inside work
Bathrooms, basements, and flooring booked in October and November get winter dates at 10 percent off. The lakes are quiet, the schedule is open, and the job gets my full attention while the outdoor season is shut.

Looking is free in Zone 1; farther out, we sort the drive on the phone first. Electrical goes to an ECRA/ESA licensed contractor and gas to a TSSA tech, always.
