Small village, big lake

Rosseau sits where Highway 141 meets the north shore of Lake Rosseau. It has been part of Seguin Township since 1998, but it was its own place long before that: the general store dates back to the late 1800s, there's a marina and a public beach, a farmers market through the summer, and the fall fair lands in late August. The village counts 288 year-round residents in 149 homes, which means about a third of Rosseau itself sits closed for much of the year, before you even start counting the cottages down the lake. That's the work here: watch visits at $99 on the bi-weekly plan with a photo report the same day, openings, closings and docks in spring and fall ($399 dock in, $449 out, $749 booked together), and a storm call when a blow comes across the lake.
